Bringing Dr. Itchy to Life: A Fun & Educational Brand for Head Lice Awareness

Creative Direction, Brand Identity & Logo Design, Website Design, Banner Ad Design, Illustration, Game Design

ParaPRO, a specialty pharmaceutical company, developed a revolutionary head lice treatment that eliminates lice in just ten minutes without combing. To support this launch, they needed a kid-friendly brand to help school nurses and parents educate children about head lice in a lighthearted, engaging way.

I led the creative direction, brand identity, and digital experience for Dr. Itchy, a stand-alone character brand designed to make head lice education approachable and fun for young children.

My Role & Contributions

Brand Identity & Illustration

  • Designed the Dr. Itchy character, ensuring he was friendly, trustworthy, and approachable for elementary-aged children.

  • Created Clouse the Louse and other playful characters to help children understand head lice without fear or embarrassment.

Website & Interactive Content

  • Designed a colorful, engaging website with resources for parents, school nurses, and kids.

  • Developed animated educational content, coloring book pages, and a Dr. Itchy resource kit to support lice awareness efforts.

Game Design: The Head Lice Hunt

  • Designed an interactive Flash game where children click to uncover and eliminate lice hidden under patches of hair—turning learning into a fun and stress-free experience.

Impact & Relevance

  • Transformed a sensitive topic into an engaging learning experience for kids.

  • Provided school nurses and parents with an accessible tool to talk about lice treatment.

  • Created a cohesive, entertaining brand experience that aligned with ParaPRO’s mission.

This project showcases my ability to blend brand storytelling, character design, and interactive experiences to create engaging, educational solutions for healthcare and family-focused audiences.
